The City of Lynn Haven will turn 100 in 2011! In planning for this momentous historic milestone, the Centennial Celebration Committee has been gathering input from residents, businesses and local organizations to create a celebration that pays tribute to Lynn Haven's past, present and future.
The Committee is in the process of finalizing a yearlong celebration of citywide events and activities. Calendars, shirts, and sponsorship banners will be for sale soon. Beginning in January, you will start to notice these sponsorship banners appearing all along Ohio and Florida Avenues. Walking/touring maps of Lynn Haven will be available at various businesses as well.
'Save the Date' day kicks off the Centennial Celebration January 11th as Lynn Haven begins its Centennial Celebration with the Mayor's Proclamation accompanied by birthday cake and refreshments at City Hall. Other events such as a Tea and Open House at the Lynn Haven Library, Tours of Historic Homes/Buildings, Memorial Day Celebration at the Soldier Monumental Park and Street Dance on Florida Avenue just to name a few, are sure to follow so check back regularly for more details.
Residents are encouraged to participate in the Centennial by providing input at a Centennial Celebration Committee meeting. Meetings typically take place on the second Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. in the Lynn Haven Public Library.
